The company achieved <strong>operating profit of 568 billion Korean won ( equivalent to 403.61 million<\/strong> US dollars ) . This is an increase compared to 95 <strong>billion won in the fourth quarter of 2024 but a decrease from 583 <\/strong>billion <strong>won in the first quarter of 2024 . <\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Financial details :<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sales revenue :<\/strong> 17.43 trillion won (12.38 billion ), down <strong>2 percent<\/strong> from the previous quarter and<strong> 3.4 percent from last year .<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Net profit<\/strong> : 344 billion won ($244.44 million ), down from 608 <strong>billion won<\/strong> in the first quarter of 2024 and an improvement from a <strong>net loss of 703 billion won in the fourth quarter of last year . <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Production and sales performance :<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong> Crude steel production :<\/strong> 8.65 million tons, down <strong>5.4 percent<\/strong> from the previous quarter and<strong> 0.1 percent from last year .<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong> Final steel sales<\/strong> : 8.15 million tons, down <strong>0.9 percent<\/strong> year -on &#8211; year .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Future plans :<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong> Electric arc furnace (EAF) construction :<\/strong> To produce steel products with lower carbon emissions .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Focus on international growth <\/strong> and increasing operational efficiency through modernization or replacement of old equipment .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>South Korean steelmaker POSCO announced its consolidated financial results for the first quarter of 2025.
